How can I make a purchase on your website?

If you want to purchase a video course, eBook or Bundle (Print+eBook) please follow below steps:

  • Register on our website using your email address and the password.
  • Search for the title by name or ISBN using the search option.
  • Select the title you want to purchase.
  • Choose the correct format eBook or Print Book. (If you order for the Print Book, you get a free eBook copy for same title)
  • Click on Add to cart.
  • Click on View cart.
  • Apply any promotional codes you may have.
  • Proceed with the checkout process (payment to be made using Credit Card/PayPal)

How do pre-orders work?

New titles are available for purchase up from two months before its scheduled publication. During this period, you can pre-order a title at a discounted price.

Your pre-ordered print book will be printed and shipped out to you only when it is published. If you have pre-ordered an eBook the download link for the eBook will be available in your Packt account immediately once the book is published.

Your pre-order payment will be taken immediately from your Credit Card/PayPal.

Charging your credit card for pre-orders

When you place your pre-order, we ask for your credit card details. As with all payments to Packt Publishing, these details are entered into the secure servers of our payment provider. They are not at any time held on our local servers. Payment is taken at the point of purchase rather than at the publication date.

Charging PayPal for pre-orders

When you pay for a pre-order with PayPal, payment is taken at the point of purchase rather than at the publication date.

For eBook pre-orders, the link to download the eBook will be available in your account and Print copies will be shipped, once the book is published. You will receive an email notification from us for the below reasons:

    • Book Published
    • Book Publishing Delayed
    • Book Cancelled
    • Credit Card Payment Failure

Cancellation

    You can cancel any pre-orders up to 48 hours before the title is released. Please email customercare@packtpub.com to cancel your pre-order.
What is the delivery time and cost of print books?

Shipments to the UK, US, Europe, Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, China, Macau, and Taiwan are free.

There is a charge for shipping to all other countries, which is detailed in the following sections.

We do not ship to PO. BOX addresses.

Shipping services

We print and ship our books from locations in the UK, US, Australia, Singapore, and India. The service and location we use depends on where you are.

Mainland US

You pay for your book in USD and we ship from the US
We offer free delivery by UPS ground service, which takes 5 to 9 business days depending on your location

Canada

You pay for your book in USD and we ship from the US
The shipping charges are 11.90USD per item
Shipping takes 5 to 9 business days depending on your location

United Kingdom

You pay for your book in GBP and we ship from UK
All shipments within UK are free
Orders of up to 4 books are dispatched by Royal Mail – Economy
Orders consisting of 5 or more books are dispatched by UPS
Shipping takes 5 business days

Europe

You pay for your book in Euros and we ship from the UK
All shipments within Europe are free
Orders of up to 4 books are dispatched by Royal Mail – Economy (Airmail)
Orders consisting of 5 or more books are dispatched by UPS
Shipping takes 9 to 12 business days, depending on your location

Unfortunately, we are unable to ship to residential addresses in Russia at this time. You can order at commercial/business address only. 

Australia and New Zealand

You pay for your book in AUD if based in Australia
Orders from Australia and New Zealand are shipped from Australia
All shipments within Australia are free, whereas the shipping charge for New Zealand is 8 GBP
Shipping to Australia takes 5 to 7 business days for the Victoria and New South Wales metropolitan areas, and up to 12 business days for remote areas of Western Australia, Northern Territory, and Queensland
Shipping to New Zealand takes 6 to 12 business days, depending on location.

Asia (selected countries)

Includes the following countries: Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Macau, Taiwan, and China
Delivery to most Asian countries (Japan, China, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Malaysia) takes 10 to 12 business days
Delivery to Singapore takes 7 to 10 business days
You pay for your book in USD and we ship from India
Orders are dispatched by courier
Shipping takes 8 to 10 days depending on your location

We are unfortunately unable to ship to the following countries: Cambodia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Myanmar, and North Korea

Rest of the World

For all countries not covered by any of the previous listings, we usually ship by Royal Mail/Air Mail
We charge you a flat rate of 8 GBP per item freight, except India – the Indian shipping charge is INR 525
Delivery to India takes approximately 25 days
Packages are not traceable; if your order has not arrived after 14 days from dispatch, please email us your order details to customercare@packtpub.com

We are unfortunately unable to ship to the following countries: Cuba, Iran, Iraq, and Syria

What Tax is charged?

No tax is charged on the purchase of any print book. A localised VAT fee is charged only to our European and UK customers on eBooks, Video and Mapt subcriptions that they buy. Customers who do not reside in the European Union and UK are not charged any VAT on their eBooks.

How can I cancel my order?

Cancellation Policy for Published Printed Books:

You can cancel any pre-orders up to 48 hours before the title is released. Simply contact customercare@packtpub.com to cancel your pre-order before the title is published. If your order has already started the shipment process, we will do our best to stop it. However, if it is already on the way to you then when you receive it, you can contact us at customercare@packtpub.com using the returns and refund process.

eBooks once ordered cannot be cancelled or refunded.

Please understand that Packt Publishing cannot provide refunds or cancel any order except for the cases described in our Return Policy (i.e. Packt Publishing agrees to replace your printed book because it arrives damaged or material defect in book), Packt Publishing will not accept returns.

How can I redeem a discount code?

Below are the steps to apply discount codes for your purchase

  • Select the eBook/print book of your choice and add to cart
  • Click on ‘View Cart’
  • In the “Do you have a promo code?” field enter your code
  • Click on the “Apply” button to apply the discount.

Returns and Refund Policy

Return Policy:

We want you to be happy with your purchase from Packtpub.com. We will not hassle you with returning print books to us. If the print book you receive from us is incorrect, damaged, doesn't work or is unacceptably late, please contact Customer Relations Team on customercare@packtpub.com with the order number and issue details as explained below:

  1. You will have a choice of replacement or refund of the problem items.(damaged, defective or incorrect)
  2. If you ordered (eBook, Video, Print Book or Mapt) incorrectly or accidentally, please contact Customer Relations Team on customercare@packtpub.com within one hour of placing the order and we will replace/refund you the item cost.
  3. Once Customer Care Team confirms that you will be refunded, you should receive the refund within 10 to 12 working days.
  4. If you are only requesting a refund of one book from a multiple order, then we will refund you the appropriate single item.
  5. Where the items were shipped under a free shipping offer, there will be no shipping costs to refund.

On the off chance your printed book arrives damaged, with book material defect, contact our Customer Relation Team on customercare@packtpub.com within 14 days of receipt of the book with appropriate evidence of damage and we will work with you to secure a replacement copy, if necessary.  Please note that each printed book you order from us is individually made by Packt’s professional book-printing partner which is on a print-on-demand basis.

Packt eBooks are not subject to the above Cancellation Policy or the Return Policy for printed books. Packt does not provide the ability for buyers to cancel orders or obtain refunds for eBooks.

If you have purchased a copy of Packt eBook or Print book from our authorised Channel Partners like Amazon, Safari, Flipkart, etc. you are eligible for a 50% discount from us depending on the book format you have. e.g If you have an eBook from Amazon, then you get a 50% off on the Print Book from us and vice versa. Simply email us the proof of purchase (receipt displaying Title name, Third Party Channel Name, Product format, Customer Name and Amount) on customercare@packtpub.com and we will do the rest.
